Meet the Farmers

Andre Faul, Sr.

I grew up on a farm in South Africa where I was exposed to the principles of sustainable farming. Although I pursued a career in Electrical Engineering, I always wanted to have my own farm. I worked as a consulting engineer in South Africa, and since moving to the USA I obtained my PhD in Electrical Engineering and am currently teaching at the J.B. Speed School of Engineering at the University of Louisville. In my spare time I co-manage the farm with my son and am involved in the daily operations of the farm

Andre Faul, Jr.

From a very early age I have been fascinated with animals and the outside world.  I knew that one day I would be working with animals, be it in conservation of wild animals or raising them on a farm.  I have always had a passion for the ocean as well which led me to pursuing a masters degree in Aquaculture at The University of Miami.  The opportunity arose for me to manage our newly acquired farm in Henry County, KY and I saw this as a way to fulfill my passion of working more closely with nature and animals.  I manage the daily operations on the farm which includes our poultry, pigs, our cow herd, our Barn Event Space and our Saltwater Shrimp production system.
